Dr. Lang grew up in Connecticut where he was valedictorian of his graduating high school class. He received his bachelors degree in biology, with honors, from the College of the Holy Cross. He received his medical degree, also with honors, from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He then went on to complete a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Seeking additional specialization, he completed an orthopedic hand and microsurgery fellowship at the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, one of the most storied and rigorous hand surgery training programs in the world. After completion of his training, he began his practice in San Francisco in 2014, and currently sees patients as a UCSF Health physician. His practice is based primarily at the UCSF Health Saint Mary’s Hospital, and is devoted to all aspects of reconstructive surgery impacting the hand, wrist, and upper extremity. He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Lang is an avid cyclist and gardener. He lives in the East Bay with his wife, also a physician, and their three children.
